Bright Cotton Baby Blanket launched

My latest blanket is made in Rico Cotton Essentials DK yarn, perfect for cooler summer days or those wanting to avoid the use of plastics in their crafting. Both pattern and yarn kit options are available from Deramores.

When I was designing this blanket I chose bright bold contrasting colours combined with simple geometrics to create interest for both the maker and the recipient. It wasn’t until it was published during Pride month that I noted the similarities with the colours with the most commonly used flag of the LGBTQIA+ community.

As such this seems a good time to publicly say that I fully support the movement in the crafting world in the last 6 months to improve diversity and increase inclusivity to all marginalised groups. I am continuing to learn from the on-going discussions.
